Looking for a relatively affordable local V8?

Ford XD-XE V8/ESP

If you want a rare but still relatively affordable V8 Falcon, start looking for a well-documented XD or XE.

A lot were modified in years past and this limits their appeal as collector cars, however they still acquit themselves as daily transport or weekend cruisers. Just don't pay too much.

European Sports Pack (ESP) V8s are generating interest and an XD manual in excellent condition reportedly reached $50,000.

Traditionally it has been the limited-production XE ESP 5.8s that made the best money and for long-term appreciation, these probably still hold an edge over the XD.
