2022 Market Review - Nissan Skyline/Patrol 1965-1990

Lots of pre-1990s Patrols survive but very few of them commend serious money.

The most expensive 1970s model we saw had been restored and was available for $25,000 – not even half the price of Landcruisers in similar condition. Early Patrols needing work are below $5000, or you could pay $12,000 for a 1980s GQ diesel in excellent condition.

Other Nissans in this grouping are among the most expensive Japanese classics on the world market and are scarce because international collectors with bottomless pockets snap them up. These early Skylines, dating from the Prince era into the 1970s, have been seen at $150,000, although pressure is building that may reduce prices.

Better value and more relevant to Australia since they were raced here would be an R31 Series Skyline hardtop which cost around $50,000 or an earlier DR30 at less than $25,000.

Skyline 2000GT 1968-72 $131,500 (2)

Skyline Sedan/Hatch 1977-85 $4650 (2)

DR30 GT 2-Door $14,665 (1)

R31 GT/GTS Hardtop 1980-90 $53,690 (3)

Patrol 1969-84 $11,555 (11)

Patrol 1985-90 $15,635 (29)
