1989 JEEP GRAND WAGONEER for sale $70,000

This Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a charismatic and sought-after modern classic American 4x4. Under the bonnet sits a 360-cubic inch (5.9-litre) AMC V8, which sends its power to all four wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.

This example was converted to right-hand drive from new when it was imported into Australia from the US, and has been with the seller and reportedly third owner for four years. This first generation SJ Grand Wagoneer is believed to be one of the original 25 models imported into Australia in 1989 to compete with the Range Rover. The odometer shows 131,843 Kms from new.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
Originally painted in a dark red hue, this Grand Wagoneer has been refinished in the eye-catching shade of Spinnaker Blue Metallic, over a burgundy leather and corduroy cloth-trimmed interior, featuring wood-effect inlays and chrome trim accents. It rides on a set of 15-inch multi-spoke machined alloy wheels with coloured Jeep centre caps, and fitted with Cooper Discoverer A/T3 tyres.

Equipment includes twin front spotlights, a roof rack with rails, a rear screen wiper, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, an AccuSound by Jensen sound system, electrically adjustable front seats, a top-tinted windscreen, air conditioning, push-out front quarter light windows, power steering, an adjustable tilt steering column, a dual-note high/low pitch horn, electric windows, and switchable four-wheel drive.

The car has been fitted with window tints, and a Sony touch-screen media system with Bluetooth connectivity. It also now boasts REDARC towing capabilities.
The car comes with a 1989 Grand Wagoneer owners handbook.

CONDITION

A full exterior and part interior respray was carried out in 2023, and the carpets and seat upholstery are reported to be original and in great condition.
The fuse in the automatic side mirrors has blown and has not yet been replaced.
The cars last roadworthiness test was conducted on 4 June 2024, which resulted in a clean pass with no advisories.

SERVICE HISTORY
This Grand Wagoneers most recent maintenance was carried out in October 2023 at around 130,000 Kms by Gasoline Alley Pty Limited.
Other notable maintenance includes new rear seatbelts being fitted, a new-old-stock bonnet ornament, roof rack mounts, and alloy wheel centre caps installed, a new crash pad, new bushes, shock absorbers, and steering damper, a full wheel alignment, a new intake manifold and carburettor being fitted, the camshaft, lifters, and timing chain being replaced, and a new water pump, spark plugs, oil filter, and oil pan seal.
