Perfect for summer

The Holden HK is a range of family and enthusiast cars that were built between January 1968 and May 1969.

Replacing the outgoing HR, the HK brought with it mostly cosmetic changes and it was a slightly larger and heavier vehicle than its predecessor.

The HK’s model range was extensive, and included the Belmont, Kingswood, Premier, Brougham and Monaro.

Body styles comprised a four-door sedan, five-door station wagon, two-door coupe, two-door ute and a two-door panel van.

The HK could be had with a number of different donks including a 2.6lt and 3.0lt inline six-cylinder and a 5.0lt and 5.4lt V8.

The shove from this various array of donks was sent to the rear-wheels via either a three or four-speed manual or a two-speed automatic transmission.

The HK was a highly successful model for the Iron Lion, and despite the fact that it was only in production for just over 16 months, over 199,000 HKs were built.

This particular HK is a ’68 Premier with the 5.0lt V8 and automatic transmission and, according to the seller, the HK has been in his possession for the past 13 years.

The seller adds that the V8 has had a number of modifications made to it which include new rings and bearings, four-barrel quadrajet, L79 Corvette grind cam, new lifters and a new harmonic balancer.

The HK is $35,000 and anyone interested in this perfect summertime cruiser can view the full listing here.
