Even the car concours has gone virtual in 2020, thanks to Hagerty

Hagerty’s ‘Concours Virtual’ will display over AU$360 million worth of cars in aid of UNICEF

While much of the world’s car events remain crippled due to more pressing global health concerns – Hagerty insurance has taken the car concours into the digital realm, kicking off the inaugural Concours Virtual event in aid of UNICEF.

The virtual concours event will feature over 180 vehicles, featured in 17 different classes, worth in excess of over AU$360 million.

Concours Virtual co-chairman Geoff Love stated: "We have been delighted at the response to the Concours from participants. We have over ten Best in Show winners from many of the top tier Concours around the world entering the event, and the quality of cars in all of the classes would grace many of the best global Concours events".

The scope of cars is extraordinary: from a 1893 Salveson Steam Wagonette which has remained untouched for over 100 years (Pre-War Preservation), to the wild 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero (Concept Car Class).

Other notable entries include Greta Garbo’s 1932 Duesenberg Model J (Hollywood Legends class), the very first Jaguar E-Type displayed to the public at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show (Post War Grand Tourers class), and the famous 1966 Le Mans-winning Ford GT40 (Le Mans class).

Hagerty’s Concours Virtual commenced days ago, beginning with the Pre War Preservation class, with the Hollywood Legends class commencing shortly.

Visitors to the website are able to make their own judgments, and vote for their own best in class alongside the 44 official judges.
