2002 Holden Monaro V2 CV8 – Today’s Tempter

Two-owner V8 Monaro: stored for years, driven sparingly, recent full service by Holden with receipts

When the curtains fell on Holden’s VT-based Monaro concept car at the Sydney Motor Show in 1998, they had no intention to put the slick two-door into production.

But the media and enthusiast fanfare forced their hand and, after a slightly longer-than-planned development, the VX-based production coupe was released in 2001.

Initially, buyers could choose between the supercharged 3.8lt CV6 (auto only), or the CV8 with the 5.7lt Gen-III V8 backed by either a four-speed auto or six-speed manual.

The CV6 was removed from the lineup amidst a 2003 model facelift due to poor sales.

This early model V2 Monaro comes to market on behalf of its second owner who states that the vehicle has been in storage for years and driven sparingly over the past four years.

The Quicksilver-over-red example is a desirable CV8 backed by the four-speed automatic, and presents highly original with service history and log books.

Late-2019 saw the vehicle receive a major service with lots of components and all fluids replaced. The seller states that only genuine OEM parts and fluids were used, with all works carried out by Kevin Dennis Holden with receipts to show.

The seller also indicates that the car has been fitted with new tyres and a new battery, and the sale will include original books, purchase/delivery order, factory brochures and a Peter Brock book and gift pack.

The car shows 124,807kms and appears to be well-kept throughout.
