1979 Pontiac Trans Am SE

I don't understand why you’d buy a car and not drive it. In the late 1970s Pontiac had established itself as the GM performance car division and here is a one-owner limited-edition Y84 code, 400 CI V8, 4-speed 1979 Trans Am 1979 Pontiac Trans Am SE. It has just 110 miles on the clock and is one of 1107 made. It comes with all purchase docs, build sheet, window sticker, sunvisor sleeve and Delco radio manual. Finished in Starlight Black with Camel Tan trim this car even has its original plastic floor protectors in place. It’s a genuine time-warp machine.

Auction watch - what's moving and shaking

Jaguar XJS

You can snaffle one for as little as $15k and a decent one for under forty grand. Yes, these two-door 5.0-5.3lt V12 monsters are complex and prone to throwing the odd tanti and refusing to budge. But when they are on song, they sound magnificent and waft along at a decent clip. Convertibles fetch more than coupes and if you go down this path, have someone knowledgeable about Jags with you. Someone who has worked on or owned one. Start at your local Jag club. It’s only a matter of time before one winds up in Guido’s shed.
