80s Japanese collectible

Produced from 1981 to 1985, the third-generation Toyota Celica was the last rear-wheel drive version and sold as both notchback and liftback body styles, with the liftback proving the more popular choice.

Gone were the flowing lines of its predecessor replaced with straight angles and wedge shapes, a hallmark of early 80s Japanese coupes.

Although its edgy looks shouted performance, in reality its two-litre four was never going to give its occupants nosebleed. A head turner then and now, it’s a fair bet to say it’s a potential future classic. Check out this reader ride Celica.

Despite it being 40 years old this Celica appears to have reasonably low kays, showing 111,678kms on the odometer and the seller says it has been well maintained and is ready to drive. The owner also says it has undergone minor rust repairs in the usual places but nothing major.

The ad states there’s nothing to spend on this classic cruiser and it’s eligible for historic rego. It is offered at $11,500. See the details here.
