The backbone of Porsche since the early 1960s, the venerable 911 came about after Peugeot prevented Porsche from branding it a 901. In the late 1970s the Porsche board thought the 911 had run its race and ordered a fleet of front engine cars be developed. Luckily the 911 survived. Here’s how the brand came to lob in Australia.

This 2019 911 GT2RS is offered for sale with a mere 5563km on the clock. It’s powered by a hyper version of the 3.8lt boxer six tied to an autobox. It’s fitted with the Weissach performance pack, has centre lock wheels, harnesses and a roll bar if you want to do track days. Finished in white with black alcantara trim and red stitching, it also has the Clubsport and Sport Chrono packages. It’s on the Gold Coast with offers over $700,000 considered. Check it out here.
