1951 Chevrolet 3100 - today's tempter
Post-war pickup
If you were in the market for a light truck or pickup just after WWII, and you lived in the USA, there's a fair chance this is what you bought. The 3100 series, aka the Advance-Design in GM-speak, was said to be the country's top-seller in the late 1940s to mid 1950s.
There were several variants, including this, a panel van and the Suburban station wagon. As for the 3100 designation, that indicates it was rated for a half-ton (900kg) load.
This example is described by the seller as semi-restored. It's running a 235ci (3.9lt) straight six with a four-speed floor-shift manual transmission. Perhaps the best news is that it's been fitted with power steering.
Located to the east of Melbourne, it's on the market for $65,000.
