Classic Aussie sedan

Ford’s local adoption of the US-derived Falcon in the early 1960s had some famous teething troubles which were overcome as the car was more closely adapted to local conditions.

By the time the XM came around, the range had been expanded considerably. As our feature on the series notes: "The shape changed slightly in 1964 to mark the arrival of XM versions. Again, the range expanded to now include two-door Hardtops in Deluxe and Futura trim. A 200 cubic inch (3.3 litre) Super Pursuit engine also became available. Early in 1965, the transformation was complete when an XP version was announced."

This example is said to have been with one family for4 50 years. It runs what was then the premium 200ci (3.3lt) Super Pursuit inline six with two-speed automatic transmission.

The seller notes extensive work on the car and it comes with two sets of wheels.

Located north of Brisbane, it’s on the market at $39,900.
