440 six pack
Italian styling, English maker, American engine – it’s a recipe that’s sure to produce something interesting and that’s very much the case with the Jensen Interceptor.
With styling by Carrozzerria Touring, in this form the Jensen runs a Chrysler 440ci (7.2lt) V8 with three-speed TorqueFlite auto transmission.
Because it’s the SP variant, that engine it fitted with a ‘six-pack’ triple carburetor set-up and clamed 385hp when new, some 60 more than a stock Interceptor. Just 232 are said to have been made.
Jensen by now had a substantial history building two-door grand tourers, a theme kicked off post-war by the 541R GT that debuted in 1953.
The Interceptor is with Oldtimer in Brisbane and is on the market for $169,950.
