1969 HOLDEN HT Premier for sale $58,750
Title | 1969 HOLDEN HT Premier |
Make | HOLDEN |
Price | AUD $58,750 |
Listing Type | Used |
Refcode | DIY1217411 |
Purchased 2 November 2002
I have every receipt of everything done on the car since 5 November 2002
183,404 HTs were produced from 1969-1970 and this is one of the most original interiors and exteriors
I have owned the car for over 20 years and everything that has been done on Ned since purchase has been professionally carried out by my same (highly regarded) Sydney mechanic and the same individual who owns the workshop.
I have kept the car original apart from a few things under the bonnet that I have modernised that just make it better, but everything the punter can see makes them think it is 1969.
The car is one of the few left in Australia with the 100% original interior in what I would describe as immaculate condition (the front seats were redone 15 years ago to match but I have always had sheepskin covers over them anyway).
The body is in what I would describe as excellent condition. Very minor dings here and there and the normal surface rust for a car built in 1969. Please be aware this it is the original paint job.
The car is always garaged undercover as you would expect.
I will only list items done in the last 12 months and I have spent over $35k (I have keep all receipts) as we rebuilt the original engine then decided to upgrade almost everything around the engine as many other items needed to be done
New cooling system including larger aluminium radiator better for really warm Australian conditions and thermofan which fixed overheating problems that HT Holdens are known for and I should have done this years ago
Complete original reconditioned 186 Engine and all associated works (in January / February 2022).
LED lights for interior lights plus added hidden HAZARD light switch and hidden temperature oil pressure gauge. Plus we added the break light which was not wired up for some reason.
Brand new seals and weather strips to all doors and windows including quarter windows which is a real bitch of a job!
New muffler and baffle and exhaust
Reconditioned distributor
New starter motor
New alternator
New air conditioning compressor
Refurbish carby (this was done by a specialist)
New front tyres
New reconditioned steering box (it drives so tight now and this was only done in November 2022)
New link arm, idler arms and inner and outer tie end rods
Other things done over the years
Air-conditioning. Compressor was replaced 2021 and it blows ice cold
Original Air Chief Holden Radio that was serviced by an old radio guru Andrew Kay and it works well. I have all the receipts and correspondence
Rhino Alarm system (the best you can buy) with two remote controls
Original holden sun visor (not in photos) is back on and I took it off as it shakes a bit when you go over about 115km on the highway, but its all back on now and looks great
Under bonnet Australian Sound Shield - manufactured in Australia for fire safety and acoustics cutting down engine and road noise
Please note
It is my everyday driver as machines need to be used and not just looked at or stored
I am ok to answer questions but I am not a mechanical or an enthusiast ( I have never been to SummerNats) but I am just someone who owned a HQ Holden at University then an old bomb HT Kingswood in the 1990s and purchased this one in 2002 as I knew how they run and how to work on them (albeit unlike University, I leave working on them to my fantastic mechanic now)
When I saw Ned (this cars nickname) in Lithgow and the condition it was in it was an easy decision back in 2002 and my job has been the caretaker since then to look after it and keep it running well.
I never leave it anywhere overnight or park in risky areas.
No tyre kickers or time wasters please as I am here to sell it and not talk about your Dads HT or your lovely memories!
Good luck and dont miss out.
