Muscle Car Warehouse now offer for sale this beautiful Ford XB Falcon 500. Commissioned by the Victorian Police force when it was used as an unmarked highway patrol car until 1977. It was originally ordered with a 351 T code engine (identical to the Falcon GT), FMX automatic transmission and a 9 diff. Further to this this car was also factory fitted with power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, tramp rods and a dual exhaust system. This car is basically a Falcon GT in a Falcon 500 body! Finished in the subtle colour of Skyview Blue and saddle trim and believed to be one of only six cars ordered in the colour with the T code engine. Other notable features are a GT bonnet and driving lights. Currently running 12 slot wheels and GS caps but with the original steel rims and dog dish hubcaps included. Still running the matching number engine with original components such as Motorcraft coil, engine lift hooks, the dog tag on the radiator support and original four-barrel Motorcraft carbie still with thecar. Vehicle registration details is recorded in the Victoria Police Historical Societys archives. A genuine sales brochure, colour selector and dealership logbook folder are included. This AC Cobra replica is based on a South African produced chassis by Hi-Tech / Superformance. With gleaming black paintwork and matt black Cobra style stripes. Originally built and owned by Sash, renowned car restorer and engine builder from AN Racing in Sydney, the car features a 364 cube Windsor engine pumping out 580hp at the flywheel. The engine is made up from a Dart block, Scat crank and rods, JE pistons, custom roller cam, AFR 210cc heads, Victor Jnr intake and lastly a 925cfm Pro Systems carbie. Helping to get all that power to the ground is a four speed Top Loader and a Jaguar Tru Trac rear end. Stopping power is taken care of by Jaguar discs all round. Officially created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Allan Moffat and Colin Bonds legendary 1-2 victory at the 1977 Hardie-Ferodo 1000, this special edition pays homage to a golden era of Australian motorsport. Unlike typical factory models, Ford did not offer these Mustangs pre-made. Instead, the Bathurst 77 Special was a high-performance conversion package, priced at $64,500, for customer-owned 2017 Mustang GTs. Factoring in the base car, the total cost easily exceeded $100,000. Exterior The exterior is a striking tribute to Moffats famous XC Falcon hardtop. It features an iconic stripe kit, Bathurst circuit badges, and Moffats number 1 proudly displayed on the bonnet and roof, ensuring its connection to the racing legend. This particular Mustang, number 33 of only 40 built, holds extra significance as it was a special order to match Moffat's sponsor, Brut 33. Performance Under the bonnet, the standard 5.0-litre Coyote V8 engine is transformed with a Roush supercharger, boosting power from 306 kW/530 Nm to a staggering 542 kW/827 Nm. Enhancements include: Cold-air induction system High-flow injectors Bespoke 3-inch Tickford exhaust system The performance upgrades are complemented by Tickfords 25mm-lowered suspension package, frame bracing, and Wilwood slotted rotors for improved handling and braking performance.
